Terms
The short, honest version.
Plain-language terms of sale and use for Inkling. Effective at launch.
What you are buying
Inkling is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Your payment gives you a personal license to use the app, and it includes every 1.x update. There are no recurring charges and no account to maintain.
If a future major version (2.0 or later) is ever released, it may be a separate purchase. It is entirely optional: your 1.x license keeps working, and existing owners are offered an upgrade at a discount rather than full price.
Your license
The license is for you. You may install and use Inkling on the Macs you personally use. Because there are no accounts and no activation servers, this runs on good faith rather than seat counts.
Please do not resell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute the app or your download link, and do not try to pass it off as your own product. The app itself is licensed to you, not sold outright, and Inkling and its branding remain ours.
Refunds
There is a 14-day, no-questions-asked refund window from the date of purchase. If Inkling is not right for you within those two weeks, contact us and we will refund you in full, no explanation required.
Because payment and refunds are handled by our merchant of record (see below), a refund is returned by them to the original payment method.
Who you buy from
Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record for Inkling. That means Lemon Squeezy handles the checkout, payment, receipts, and any sales tax or VAT, and appears on your statement and receipt.
Your receipt is your key. You can re-download Inkling any time from the link on that receipt, on a new Mac or years later, with nothing to reactivate and no account to recover.
Your data and privacy
Inkling runs on your Mac, and your recordings, transcripts, and notes stay there. We keep no server-side copy of your meetings, because there is no Inkling server in the path.
This website uses cookieless, privacy-friendly analytics that count visits and clicks in aggregate, and sets no tracking cookies. The full account of what the app can ever send is on the On Your Mac page.
Warranty and liability
Inkling is provided on an as-is basis, without warranties beyond those you are guaranteed by law. We work hard to make it reliable, but we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or fit for a specific purpose you have in mind.
To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits or removes the statutory consumer rights you have where you live; where those rights conflict with anything here, your statutory rights win.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product changes. The version in force is the one published here, with its effective date. Continuing to use Inkling after an update means the current terms apply.
